The YMCA Early Learning Community is designed to offer well-supervised, safe, quality, and positive care for your children during times you cannot be there yourself. Our program is set up to accommodate both working and non-working parents and offer children an opportunity to grow and develop in an enriching, multi-choice, encouraging and pressure-free environment. Our programs are designed to promote creativity and build self-esteem while developing each child’s full potential. We hope your child’s enrollment with us will mark the beginning of a wonderful experience in your child’s early years. Our programs provide a place for children to become independent and to feel loved. We hope to provide a supplement to your child’s family life by encouraging growth in spirit, mind, and body.
The Chippewa Falls YMCA Early Learning Community child care programs work to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities by developing the mind, body, and spirit through the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Philosophy
The children are exposed to a variety of activities, projects, and role modeling that reinforce positive values. The YMCA focuses on character development that emphasizes the YMCA core values of Caring, Respect, Responsibility, and Honesty.
Young children need years of play with real objects and events before they are ready to understand the meaning of symbols such as letters and numbers or before they are ready to handle situations completely independently.
Learning takes place as children touch, manipulate, and experiment with things and interact with people. Our curriculum focuses on the process of learning rather than the product.
Our programs include activities that will enhance social, cognitive, language, and physical development. Activities are planned to encourage children to explore, experiment, discover, learn, create, and increase self-understanding, as they acquire and develop these skills.
Curriculum/Program Activities
YMCA program activities/lesson plans will provide each Infant, Toddler, Preschool, 4K Cardinals, and School-Age child with experiences to encourage several areas of development, including large/small motor, creative, social, intellectual, and cognitive opportunities.

Days Gone By YMCA Early Learning Community strives to offer high quality early childhood care and education to families in the Chippewa Valley. We believe that each child has been created by God to be a unique and special individual with a wonderful purpose. Furthermore, we believe that parents are the most important people in children’s lives and we strive to support and strengthen relationships through strong communication and supportive programming. Trust, respect, and integrity are the foundation of our philosophies.
Our center promotes healthy development through exercise, nutrition, and curriculum. In addition, we employ a strong management and leadership team that excels at communication with parents and other educational organizations. Our highly qualified staff truly cares about your children and provides individualized care and learning to each child. We have a National Accreditation through the Association of Early Learning Leaders and a 5-Star Rating through Wisconsin’s YoungStar Quality Rating System. High-quality care is our goal in every aspect of your child’s life.
Days Gone By YMCA Early Learning Community utilizes a vigorous application and interview process which allows us to employ a unique and dedicated staff. Our employees are challenged to offer the very best care, education, and interactions to all children and families each day. All teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education and are highly qualified individuals. Our teaching staff works hard to offer learning experiences that meet the individual needs of the children in their group through observation and intentional teaching opportunities.
Teachers are required to be certified in CPR and First Aid, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Reduction, and Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) Reduction trainings. They are also required to continue their education every year.
Our Mission: At Days Gone By Early Learning, our mission is that every child and adult that we come in contact with would feel valued and appreciated for the unique individual that they are and for all they have to offer. We are committed to impacting children and families through high quality, faith-based child care, early education, and communication.
Our Goals
At Days Gone By Early Learning we strive to:
Recognize each child’s potential and unique qualities
Develop each child’s understanding of their importance to God
Help children learn to control themselves through positive guidance
Model and teach respect, responsibility, and accountability
Support families through strong partnerships and communication
Create a positive work environment for our employees
Develop a thriving, dependable child care program
Our Philosophy: To enrich the lives of children and families through quality communication, interactions, and experiences in all areas of development as we strive to meet the individual needs of each uniquely-created child by teaching and modeling God’s love, acceptance, kindness, and respect for themselves and those around them.
Our Learning Environments: Days Gone By Early Learning offers faith-based principles and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for your children. We offer a back-to-basics program that promotes learning through play for Infants, Toddlers, Preschool (including Eau Claire School District 4k), and School Age programs, and Summer programming.
We are dedicated to serving children and their families and believe that children learn best through play and hands-on experiences. Our teachers are trained in child development and have an understanding of the amazing ways that each child has been created. With these things in mind, the activities and educational opportunities that are made available to children are both interesting and challenging to them.
We want the children to be excited to be with us as they discover, explore, and play. Along with all of these experiences, we also feel that it is very important for children to have opportunities to practice and develop their social and emotional skills, such as sharing, kindness, and using words to express themselves. We utilize character education to help children learn how to accept and appreciate each other and the world around them. As a faith-based program, we strongly believe that God created each child to be a special, unique person with a wonderful purpose. It is our greatest desire to work with parents in an effort to help each child find that purpose.
