Both Lifeguard Instructors and CPR Instructors are key member of the Aquatics team that are responsible for teaching Lifeguard courses, Lifeguard Review courses, or a variety of First Aid/CPR/AED courses in Lay Person or Professional/Health Care provider, for staff and community members. Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, it is the Instructor's responsibility to educate, , observe, provide feedback and correction, leadership, supervision, and safety of all course participants. Also, responsible for the appearance, presentation, and working order of all materials and equipment used for training. Must have a current Lifeguard and/or CPR certification. Preferred, but not required certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and/or Firs Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.
Teaches YMCA water aerobics class Monday and Wednesday from 8:00-9:00 am. Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down. Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. Keeps management informed of pool activities, facility needs, and significant problems. Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members. Ensures pool safety and YMCA policies are adhered to. Performs related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications:
The Lifeguard is a key member of the Aquatics team that is responsible for supervising the aquatics area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and respond to emergencies. Each member of our Lifeguard team creates a safe, positive and enjoyable atmosphere, promoting member safety and satisfaction in accordance with the YMCA policies and procedures. A Lifeguard builds positive relationships with members and program participants through effective listening and verbal skills. You will oversee multiple activities including open swim, water exercise, swim lessons and lap swimming. Hours are flexible for your schedule. Must be 15 years or older.
Bring your enthusiastic attitude and passion to the Y and be a part of a meaningful team teaching people of all ages the gift of swimming. We will provide on the job training, although experience is preferred, it is not required. Ages 16 and older. Hours are flexible for your schedule. Primary responsibility is providing swimming instruction to people of all ages, excellent customer service in a safe, fun, and positive atmosphere that promotes participant potential, safety and satisfaction. Give your gift of swimming to someone else! Must be 16 years or older.
This team is responsible for working at our Service Desk or Welcome Desk. Duties include selling memberships, signing people up for programs, scanning cards, answering phones and being the first point of contact for YMCA members and guests. Staff will ensure that our members and guests have great customer service and their needs are met.
Hours vary but mainly between 8 am – 10 pm Sunday - Saturday. Please apply online.
