Licensed Teachers - Summer Learning Loss Prevention Program | Chippewa Falls & Eau Claire 

Licensed Teachers Needed! The Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls YMCAs are looking for licensed teachers for our Summer Learning Loss Prevention Program, YMCA Camp Academy.

Eau Claire YMCA Sports Center - Program Director

Pay: Salary $35,600 *Depends on experience

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Program Director at Eau Claire YMCA Sports Center oversees the development and operations of various programs, such as healthy living, teens, child care, active aging, membership and/or other programs and designs practices, processes, and procedures for strong program and project management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supports a variety of activities related to the general operations of the facility, youth programs and sport leagues. As a member of the YMCA Sports Center team, you will be expected to contribute when and where assistance is needed.
  2. Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  3. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
  4. Manages each program, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program; securing and scheduling the needed facilities; and creating and scheduling the classes, activities or events.
  5. Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success.

PROGRAM OPERATIONS

  • Effectively communicating the mission, vision and values of the YMCA.
  • Ensuring all programs comply with YMCA standards and methods of operation.
  • Integrating member-service and engagement strategies into all programs to ensure positive member recruitment and retention.
  • Managing programs from start to end.
  • Building and expanding program enrollment and participation.
  • Managing registration process for all sport seasons and programs.
  • Organizing players and assigning/training coaches for the formation of teams and leagues.
  • Monitoring and evaluating delivery and effectiveness of programs and volunteers for the highest possible level of quality.
  • Scheduling, communicating and observing all programs for effectiveness.
  • Recruiting, training and scheduling all sports officials.
  • Preparing for and managing all game days, staff and volunteers.
  • Being visible to staff and members.
  • Responding to all member and community inquiries and concerns within 24 hours.
  • Communicating program information, changes and needs in a timely manner to supervisor and branch staff.
  • Providing written and verbal communication to all team parents and coaches for clear understanding of YMCA policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
  • One to two years related experience preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne
  • Pathogens training.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Facility Attendant Job Description

The YMCA Sports Center is currently accepting applications for part-time Facility Attendants. (10-20hrs/week)

This position is seasonal-based (Sept-May) with potential for year-round employment.  Available shifts are evenings and weekends.  May apply for individual days or varied shifts.  Weekends only also available.  Flexibility to fit your schedule!

Pay is $8.55-$9/hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operating concessions
  • Various setup and teardown tasks for sport leagues, youth programs, birthday parties, and facility events
  • Miscellaneous cleaning duties
  • Overseeing leagues and youth programs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • We are looking for great work ethic and those who loves to interact with children and adults alike 
  • Candidates must be very personable, outgoing, reliable, and trustworthy
  • Cash handling and customer service experience preferred

Early Childhood Teacher (Chippewa Falls)

The YMCA Early Learning Community has an exciting full-time teaching position open! This position is 40 hours per week 5 days a week.

  • Associates Degree (or higher) in Early Childhood or related field
  • Willing to participate in furthering childcare education courses paid for by the YMCA

Lifeguard Instructor and CPR Instructor  (Eau Claire YMCA)

Both Lifeguard Instructors and CPR Instructors are key member of the Aquatics team that are responsible for teaching Lifeguard courses, Lifeguard Review courses, or a variety of First Aid/CPR/AED courses in Lay Person or Professional/Health Care provider, for staff and community members.  Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, it is the Instructor's responsibility to educate, , observe, provide feedback and correction, leadership, supervision, and safety of all course participants.  Also, responsible for the appearance, presentation, and working order of all materials and equipment used for training.  Must have a current Lifeguard and/or CPR certification.  Preferred, but not required certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and/or Firs Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.


Water Exercise Instructor (Eau Claire YMCA)

Teaches YMCA water aerobics class Monday and Wednesday from 8:00-9:00 am. Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down. Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. Keeps management informed of pool activities, facility needs, and significant problems. Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members. Ensures pool safety and YMCA policies are adhered to. Performs related duties as required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Instructor (AEA, ACE, AFAA), water specialty/certification preferred.
  • Certification in CPR/AED desired.
  • Necessary knowledge of hydrodynamic principles and water exercise movements.
  • Familiar with human anatomy- muscle groups, body functions during exercise.
  • Knowledge of teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm.
  • Incorporate creative exercises using different equipment.
  • Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.

Lifeguard (Chippewa Falls or Eau Claire YMCA)

The Lifeguard is a key member of the Aquatics team that is responsible for supervising the aquatics area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and respond to emergencies. Each member of our Lifeguard team creates a safe, positive and enjoyable atmosphere, promoting member safety and satisfaction in accordance with the YMCA policies and procedures. A Lifeguard builds positive relationships with members and program participants through effective listening and verbal skills. You will oversee multiple activities including open swim, water exercise, swim lessons and lap swimming. Hours are flexible for your schedule. Must be 15 years or older. 


Swim Instructor (Eau Claire YMCA)

Bring your enthusiastic attitude and passion to the Y and be a part of a meaningful team teaching people of all ages the gift of swimming. We will provide on the job training, although experience is preferred, it is not required. Ages 16 and older. Hours are flexible for your schedule. Primary responsibility is providing swimming instruction to people of all ages, excellent customer service in a safe, fun, and positive atmosphere that promotes participant potential, safety and satisfaction. Give your gift of swimming to someone else! Must be 16 years or older. 


Customer Service Team (Eau Claire YMCA)

This team is responsible for working at our Service Desk or Welcome Desk.  Duties include selling memberships, signing people up for programs, scanning cards, answering phones and being the first point of contact for YMCA members and guests.  Staff will ensure that our members and guests have great customer service and their needs are met.

Hours vary but mainly between 8 am – 10 pm Sunday - Saturday. Please apply online.
