PARENTS' NIGHT OUT
The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley offers monthly Parents' Night Out Events at the YMCA Sports Center. Activities include board games, crafts, gym time, movies, and pizza for dinner! Dinner will be provided for the children.
This service is FREE for those who have YMCA Household Memberships.
The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley offers Parents’ Night Out at the YMCA Sports Center once a month, on a Friday! Each group rotates through activities on the turf and sport court area.

One Friday a Month! Upcoming dates are October 17, November 14 & December 19. Future dates will be determined as they get closer.

What is the cost?
Parents' Night Out is FREE with YMCA Family Memberships. There is NO cost associated with this monthly service.
How does registration work?
Registration opens one month at a time.
Enrollment will begin at 12:00 AM the Saturday after the prior months event.
Enrollment closes on the Monday prior to the event.
Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are available to YMCA Household Memberships only.
If the program is FULL, add your child to the waitlist and we will do our best to increase staff to get your child enrolled!
Anything else I need to know?
For children 3 years old and potty trained through 5th grade.
Pizza from HyVee will be provided for the children.
Children of all ages are encouraged to bring a labeled water bottle.
This service follows licensing procedures but IS NOT a licensed childcare program.

S.T.E.A.M PROGRAMS
Sensory play can be extremely important to a child's development. Through sensory play toddlers develop language skills, motor skills, cognitive growth, and encourage experimentation. This class will allow parents and children to create, play, and interact while getting some much-needed sensory stimulation! Little Sensors will be a mixture of 3 sensory activities per session focusing on the 7 senses; smell, taste, touch, sight, sound, vestibular and proprioceptive. Examples of activities include sensory bin fun, messy art, obstacle courses for toddlers, edible art and much more. Come explore this fun new class.

Let your little one’s imagination run wild! Sensory Explorers is a hands-on sensory adventure where kids with parents direction can paint, squish, splash, build, and create without limits. Each class combines art projects, sensory play activities, and exciting obstacle courses that spark curiosity and keep kids exploring. Designed to boost creativity, exploration, and sensory play, this class gives children the freedom to explore textures, colors, and movement in a safe, playful environment.

FAMILY FUN ZONE &
FRIDAY FAMILY NIGHT
Offered for children ages 0 to 5. (Older kids are welcome as long as they are playing appropriately with the younger children). Family Fun Zone provides children and parents or an adult caregiver open play on our large turf field filled with toys, sports equipment, and inflatables.
A Group Activity is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays a 10:30 AM for those who choose to participate. Open gymnastics is back on Friday, Nov. 14! ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED AND SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT.

YOUTH DANCE
Let your little one wiggle, giggle, and groove! This 30-minute class introduces young dancers to the joy of movement through playful activities inspired by ballet, jazz, hip hop, and creative dance. Perfect for beginners, Little Groovers builds coordination, rhythm, and confidence in a fun, nurturing environment. Each dancer receives a special class t-shirt!

Junior Groovers is a high-energy, 45-minute class designed for kids who love to move! No recitals, no pressure—just pure dance fun! Each participant gets a cool class t-shirt to show off their groove.

KIDS GYM & PLAYSPACE
Reminder: The PlaySpace is being used for Child Watch during the Summer.
The Chippewa Falls YMCA now has an interactive PlaySpace designed for children's educational and recreational enrichment. This initiative was made possible through the generous partnership with the Children's Museum of Eau Claire, through a grant provided by AnnMarie Foundation, Inc., and the generosity of Mike & Dawn Bye. The YMCA invites families to experience the joy of play with a purpose.
The PlaySpace at the Chippewa Falls YMCA is a haven for young minds, offering a variety of STEM-based games and activities that promote learning through play. Tailored for children of all ages with an emphasis on activities for 2-14 year olds, the area is equipped with innovative games and robotics, facilitating a hands-on environment to stimulate creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Also in the space, a large climb-through slide, blue building blocks, and interactive fort building supplies to get little minds and bodies moving.
What is the cost?
PlaySpace is a FREE offering to all YMCA Members and Non-Members can participate with a purchase of a day pass.
Anything else I need to know?
Emphasis on activities for 2-14 year olds.
An adult aged 16 or older must accompany children 10 and under to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

The PlaySpace is available whenever the YMCA is open, except for Child Watch hours.
Kids Gym is available at the Eau Claire Downtown YMCA to Members during business hours except for when it is used for our Child Watch drop off child care service or is reserved for a birthday party. Members wishing to use Kids Gym can check out the key at the service desk. Please note, children must be supervised by an adult when using Kids Gym.

SAFETY COURSES
Teaches students safety skills for when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students will learn safety skills, childcare skills, first aid/rescue skills, and life/business skills from the instructor-led one-day class. There will be a snack break, but it is not provided; please bring your own. Must be 11 years old by date of class.

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a program designed for students in grades 3-5 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. Safe@Home is a 90-minute program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

YMCA MEMBERS: $35 | NON-MEMBERS: $45
Instructs individuals to respond appropriately to breathing, cardiac, and first aid emergencies and decide whether advanced medical care is needed. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a person experiencing cardiac arrest. Additional classes are available for the Health Care Professional and Rescuer.
Instructs participants in the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies through water rescue skills, surveillance and recognition, CPR/AED, first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies, Prerequisites: ability to swim 300 yards (100 front crawl with rhythmic breathing, 100 breaststroke and 100 of front crawl and breaststroke); swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 9 ft., retrieve a 10-lb object, return to surface, swim 20 yards on back with both hands on the brick to the start point and exit the water within 1 min., 40 secs., and treading water for 2 minutes without using arms. A review class is also available for those who already hold there certification but need it renewed.

Train instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the Swimming and Water Safety program by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress. Prerequisites: Demonstrate the ability to perform the following swimming skills:
Front crawl—25 yards
Back crawl—25 yards Breaststroke—25 yards
Elementary backstroke—25 yards
Sidestroke—25 yards
Butterfly—15 yards
Maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling)
Tread water for 1 minute

Join us for a fun-filled morning of family connection and play! On the first Tuesday of every month, families are invited to enjoy board games, toys, and activities together. This free program is open to YMCA members during Child Watch hours. Games and toys are geared toward ages 3–10, but all ages are welcome to join in the fun! Parents must remain present—come laugh, play, and make memories with your little ones!
