YMCA enrichment programs provide safe, nurturing, and hands-on activities for children and teens designed to foster social, physical, and academic growth. These programs often include S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math), arts and crafts, cooking, and music & movement. They are aimed at building confidence, creativity, and new friendships.

Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/FA #8

Summer 2026

American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid class. This is an entry level CPR course required for most non-health care jobs such as day care providers, office workers, construction workers and the general public. It is designed for a wide variety of participants. No online portion, all in-person at the Downtown Branch

Lifeguard Recertification BL Course

Fall 2026

The primary purpose of a recertification course is to give participants who are CURRENTLY CERTIFIED OR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EXPIRATION DATE, American Red Cross Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) the opportunity to review the course knowledge and skills within a formal course setting to maintain their American Red Cross Lifeguarding (including Deep Water) certification. Prerequisite #1: Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest. * Jump into water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of the both. (Swimming on back or side is not permitted.) *Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only your legs. *Swim 50 yards using front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Prerequisite 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. *Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles not allowed.) *Submerge to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10=-pound object. *Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out of the water. *Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. AN EMAIL WILL BE SENT TO ALL PARTICIPANTS WITHIN 2 WEKKS OF THE COURSE START DATE OUTLINING COURSE DETAILS AND ONLINE TRAINING. All materials included. No refunds. Course graduates are encouraged to apply for employment at YMCA.

Safe Sitter

Fall 2026

Is your child ready to stay home alone, watch younger brothers and sisters while you�re away from the house, or babysit for younger children? Then maybe it�s time for Safe Sitter�. Safe Sitter� is for boys and girls in grades 6-8 who are ready to learn the skills they need to care for themselves and younger children. Safe Sitter� teaches young teens how to practice important safety skills, how to handle emergencies, and how to treat illnesses and injuries. In addition, students learn important business skills, such as how to screen jobs, set a wage, and work with employers.
