Happy Hour Yoga

Presented by the Chippewa Falls YMCA & Leinenkugel's

Please join the Chippewa Falls YMCA and Leinenkugel’s Brewery for this fun, autumn mingler as we move into our poses and relax with a pint. We will begin with an all-level, hour-long, not-too-serious Hatha yoga class in the grassy area in front of the Leinie Barn. Then we’ll hops and barley our way across the footbridge to Leinie Lodge for a refreshing pint and NamAAAHHHHste social mixer.

Includes 1 hour of yoga and 1 drink ticket for a pint of your choice!

  • After Sept 22 & day of walk-in's: $15 (walk-ups are CASH ONLY)

Where: Grassy area in front of the Leinie Barn.

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM outside the Leinie’s Barn. Drink ticket will be given at check-in.
 

Yoga will be led by YMCA yoga instructor, Rebecca Snyder. Bring your yoga mat and wear comfy, athletic clothing.

New to the YMCA? Or always wanted to try an indoor cycling class and didn't know where to start? This class is for you! Time will be spent actually riding the bikes, so dress for a light workout!

Walk through the basics of yoga - postures, flows, and all the health benefits Yoga provides! This class is geared to the novice with little to no experience. Please wear athletic clothing to practice Yoga in.

The Declutter Dilemma - Chippewa Falls YMCA

Emily Steimann, a professional organizer and owner of Organized Mess Expert, is ready to give you tips on how to tackle your space, making it work for you not against you. Emily will discuss the emotions that keepsakes and memorabilia bring up, ways to declutter and how to store the things that are most important to you.

Outdoor Cycling Club - Chippewa Falls YMCA

This ride will start at the parking lot one block south of the Cenex station in Jim Falls. We will ride to Cornell and back on the Old Abe Trail. Reminder to bring money to stop at an ice cream shop! Sunscreen & helmets are recommended.

Mind Over Matter: Healthy Bowels, Healthy Bladder

This workshop is designed to help give women the tools they need to take control of their bladder and bowel symptoms.
 

The workshop consists of three 2-hour sessions that meet every other week. It provides information and group activities along with simple exercises and dietary changes to practice at home.

What will I learn in the workshop?

  • Information about bladder and bowel control

  • At-home techniques and exercises to help prevent or improve symptoms

  • Tools to help you set goals and mark your progress

Zombie Zumba Dance Party

Fitness is undying! Get ready to energize your body and dance your heart out with our deadly dance moves with Zombie Zumba at the Chippewa Falls YMCA. This event is open to all ages and walks of life ~dead or alive~ Zombie attire is encouraged but not required! Licensed YMCA Zumba Instructors will lead a Zombie Zumba dance party that is guaranteed to get you in a ghoulish mood. Costumes are welcome and treats will be provided after!

Music & Rhythm

Chippewa Falls YMCA

A drum circle is an informal group of people who gather together to make music with percussion instruments.
 

Benefits of drum/rhythm circles include:

  • Reducing tension, anxiety, depression, and stress

  • Boosting the immune system and increasing energy

  • Controlling chronic pain

  • Releasing negative feelings

  • Making social interactions and feeling a sense of community

  • Improving language

  • Improving joint mobility, posture, and motor skills

Percussion instruments will be provided but personal instruments welcome if you already play and want to bring your own!

Maintain Don't Gain Challenge

Join our MAINTAIN, DON'T GAIN CHALLENGE to help maintain your weight over the holiday season! This brand new challenge will run for 6-weeks over the holidays giving you a goal of staying within 2 pounds of your weigh-in before the holidays start!

 

  • Weigh-In Week is November 13-19

    • Your weigh-in will need to be done with a staff member present at the YMCA.

  • Challenge runs November 20-December 31

    • GOAL: Maintain your weight!

  • Weigh-Out Week is January 1-7

    • Participants who do not gain more than 2 pounds during the 6 week challenge, will be entered in for a GRAND PRIZE! YMCA Member participants can earn another entry into the grand prize by checking into the YMCA 18 times during the challenge.

    • Winner(s) will be announced January 9.

 

COST: $20 YMCA Members & Non-Members with a t-shirt included

Non-Members are not eligible for the additional entry for number of check-ins.

It's time to SWITCH things up! The Chippewa Falls YMCA is excited to introduce you to Myzone Fitness! 

 

WHAT IS MYZONE?

Myzone is a wearable fitness monitor and online social platform that shows and rewards EFFORT when you work out. It displays real time heart rate, calories and intensity with five color coded personalized zones and has a simple rewards-based metric called MEPs (Myzone Effort Points) that align with the WHO guidelines for physical activity.

Bring the Y to you, wherever you are. Whether it's a current Y favorite or something new to you, Y360 matches your lifestyle with a growing library of online videos for you and your family. Livestreams and on-demand classes/content are available free for current YMCA Members. 

Water Exercise

The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley offers group exercise classes on land as well as in the water. Each week, several group exercise water classes are held at the Y's two membership locations. Free to all YMCA members!  Meet with a wellness professional to determine your fitness goals, receive SMART goal-based assessments, and then be provided individual recommendations on how to best use your YMCA membership to reach your goals.  Body composition testing, heart rate, blood pressure, functional movement screening, flexibility, strength, endurance, and performance testing can all be measured followed by a complimentary personal training session customized to your best course of action.
