ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

YMCA enrichment programs provide safe, nurturing, and hands-on activities for children and teens designed to foster social, physical, and academic growth. These programs often include S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math), arts and crafts, cooking, and music & movement. They are aimed at building confidence, creativity, and new friendships.

Little Sensors

Spring 2026

Sensory play can be extremely important to a child's development. Through sensory play toddlers develop language skills, motor skills, cognitive growth, and encourage experimentation. This class will allow parents and children to create, play, and interact while getting some much-needed sensory stimulation! Little Sensors will be a mixture of 3 sensory activities per session focusing on the 7 senses; smell, taste, touch, sight, sound, vestibular and proprioceptive. Examples of activities include sensory bin fun, messy art, obstacle courses for toddlers, edible art and much more. Come explore this fun new class.

Sport Tykes 101

Sensory Explorers

Spring 2026

Let your little one’s imagination run wild! Sensory Explorers is a hands-on sensory adventure where kids with parents direction can paint, squish, splash, build, and create without limits. Each class combines art projects, sensory play activities, and exciting obstacle courses that spark curiosity and keep kids exploring. Designed to boost creativity, exploration, and sensory play, this class gives children the freedom to explore textures, colors, and movement in a safe, playful environment.

SAFETY COURSES

Safe Sitter Essentials

Spring 2026

Teaches students safety skills for when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students will learn safety skills, childcare skills, first aid/rescue skills, and life/business skills from the instructor-led one-day class. There will be a snack break, but it is not provided; please bring your own. Must be 11 years old by date of class.

Lifeguard Blended Learning Course #5

Spring 2026

The primary purpose of the courses in the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to: *Prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies. *Provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) professionals take over. Training is conducted and evaluated in water depths ranging from 8-12 feet maximum, depending on the depth of the facility in which the training is conducted. Prerequisite #1: Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest. * Jump into water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of the both. (Swimming on back or side is not permitted.) *Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only your legs. *Swim 50 yards using front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Prerequisite 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. *Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles not allowed.) *Submerge to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10=-pound object. *Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out of the water. *Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. MUST BE 15 YEARS OF AGE ON THE LAST DAY OF THE COURSE IN ORDER TO ENROLL IN THE CLASS.
