Shift Availability:

Thursdays, 5:00–7:00 PM
Grades K–2: 5:00–5:50 PM
Grades 3–5: 6:00–6:50 PM

About the Role

The Chippewa Falls YMCA is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Lead Volleyball Coach to lead our youth instructional volleyball program this fall. This is a fun, skill-based program focused on teaching the fundamentals of volleyball while creating a positive, encouraging, and engaging experience for young athletes. While this posting is for our six-week fall session, our goal is to continue growing volleyball programming throughout the year. Ideally, we're looking for someone interested in helping lead and build the program beyond this initial session.


Responsibilites include:

  • Plan and lead weekly instructional volleyball sessions for two age groups (K–2 and Grades 3–5).

  • Teach age-appropriate volleyball fundamentals, including passing, serving, setting, hitting, movement, and teamwork.

  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where every child can learn and have fun.

  • Supervise assistant coaches and volunteer helpers during each session.

  • Communicate with YMCA staff regarding program needs and participant success.

  • Arrive prepared and on time each week with lesson plans and equipment organized.

Key Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Several years of volleyball playing experience required.

  • Previous volleyball coaching or instructional experience preferred.

  • Passion for working with children and helping young athletes build confidence and skills.

  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and dependable attendance.
