Are you passionate about creating meaningful experiences for children and leading a team that makes a lasting impact every day? The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and mission-driven School Age & Child Watch Director to lead our growing school-age childcare, enrichment, summer camp, and family engagement programs.


This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone who is passionate about youth development, values building strong community relationships, and enjoys developing high-performing teams while creating safe, engaging, and inclusive environments where every child can thrive.


As the School Age & Child Watch Director, you will provide leadership for the YMCA's:

  • Before and After School Programs

  • Summer Day Camp

  • School-Age Enrichment Programs

  • Child Watch (Drop-In Child Care)

  • Parents' Night Out

  • Youth and Family Special Events


You'll oversee all aspects of program operations while ensuring exceptional experiences for children, families, staff, and community partners.

Key Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Recreation, Child Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience meeting Wisconsin DCF Director qualifications).

  • Minimum three years of experience in childcare, youth development, or related programs.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising staff and volunteers, including coaching, training, or mentoring.

  • Knowledge of child development, safety practices, and inclusive programming.

  • Experience managing daily operations, scheduling, and basic budgets.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience in school-age childcare or youth development.

  • Experience with summer camp or enrichment programming.

  • Knowledge of Wisconsin DCF licensing requirements.

  • Experience developing community partnerships and family engagement initiatives.

  • Experience with program management software, scheduling systems, and reporting tools.

  • Budget management and program growth experience.
