About the Role

The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is looking for an energetic, caring, and organized Seasonal School-Age Child Care Coordinator to help lead our engaging youth program in Menomonie, Wisconsin! This is more than just a summer job—it’s a chance to make a lasting impact on kids and families while gaining leadership experience in a fun, fast-paced environment. The School-Age Child Care Coordinator provides day-to-day leadership of a summer program aligned with the Menomonie School District’s summer school schedule. The role centers on staff supervision, program coordination, family communication, and compliance, while fostering a safe, engaging environment for children.

Key Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old or older.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Recreation, Child Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Education must meet DCF Licensure Requirements for Director status.

  • Experience working in School-Age child care, youth development, or related programs.

  • Experience supporting staff and volunteers, including coaching, training, or mentoring.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Knowledge of child development principles, inclusive practices, and safety standards.

  • Ability to manage program operations, schedules, and basic budgets.

  • A positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude

  • Ability to stay organized and adapt in a dynamic environment

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Passion for youth development and community impact
