About the Role
The Menomonie East YMCA is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to serve as Coaches for our Coed Youth Rec Soccer program.
Coaches will take an active role in planning and leading practices and games while creating a fun, organized, and positive environment where youth can learn the fundamentals of soccer, develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a team.
Whether you’re a current or former soccer player, an experienced coach, a parent, or simply someone who enjoys soccer and working with kids, we’d love to have you join us!
Volunteer Responsibilities
Plan and lead age-appropriate soccer drills, activities, and games.
Teach and demonstrate fundamental soccer skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control.
Teach basic soccer rules, terminology, and game concepts.
Keep players engaged, active, and involved throughout each session.
Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment for all skill levels.
Provide instruction and feedback to help players develop their skills and confidence.
Communicate with YMCA staff regarding program needs, questions, or concerns.
Help ensure practices and games are safe, organized, and enjoyable for all participants.
Key Qualifications
Soccer playing experience is preferred but not required.
Comfortable working with youth ages 12 and under.
Positive, energetic, patient, and encouraging.
Willing to learn and help wherever needed.
Enjoys working with kids and helping them develop new skills.
