About the Role

The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley continues to move forward into an exciting new chapter of growth and community impact and is seeking a bold, relationship-driven Vice President of Development to help lead the way.


This is more than a fundraising role. It’s a chance to build, shape, and elevate philanthropy across a trusted, community-centered organization with deep roots and growing momentum.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will have a seat at the table partnering directly with the CEO, and senior leaders to design and execute a comprehensive development strategy that fuels long-term sustainability and expands life-changing programs across our region.


This role is ideal for a builder and connector and someone who thrives on creating meaningful relationships, unlocking generosity, and leaving a lasting mark on their community.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a multi-year, comprehensive development strategy aligned with the YMCA’s strategic plan.

  • Identify, cultivate, and secure gifts and community partnerships

  • Lead annual campaign strategy and execution

  • Expand corporate sponsorships, partnerships, and events

  • Build and steward a strong major gift and planned giving pipeline

  • Identify, cultivate, and secure philanthropic relationships that unlock transformational impact.

  • Drive campaign impact, results and outcomes.

  • Partner with the Senior Leadership team to strengthen philanthropic engagement

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the development team

  • Foster a culture of philanthropy across staff and leadership

  • Serve as a passionate ambassador for the YMCA in the community, building relationships that matter.

How You’ll Measure Success

  • Achieve or exceed annual comprehensive fundraising goals

  • Drive consistent year-over-year revenue growth

  • Increase major gift revenue and donor pipeline strength

  • Expand and strengthen the major gift portfolio

  • Increase donor retention

  • Build a strong pipeline of new major donor prospects

  • Expand meaningful community and corporate partnerships

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of progressive fundraising leadership

  • Proven success securing major gifts and building donor relationships

  • Experience working with boards and volunteer leaders

  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills

  • A strategic mindset paired with hands-on execution
