YMCA enrichment programs provide safe, nurturing, and hands-on activities for children and teens designed to foster social, physical, and academic growth. These programs often include S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math), arts and crafts, cooking, and music & movement. They are aimed at building confidence, creativity, and new friendships.

Safe Sitter Essentials

Spring 2026

Teaches students safety skills for when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students will learn safety skills, childcare skills, first aid/rescue skills, and life/business skills from the instructor-led one-day class. There will be a snack break, but it is not provided; please bring your own. Must be 11 years old by date of class.

Lifeguard Recert BL Course #D

Spring 2026

The primary purpose of a recertification course is to give participants who are CURRENTLY CERTIFIED OR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EXPIRATION DATE, American Red Cross Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) the opportunity to review the course knowledge and skills within a formal course setting to maintain their American Red Cross Lifeguarding (including Deep Water) certification. Prerequisite #1: Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest. * Jump into water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of the both. (Swimming on back or side is not permitted.) *Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only your legs. *Swim 50 yards using front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Prerequisite 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. *Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles not allowed.) *Submerge to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10=-pound object. *Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out of the water. *Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

Safe@Home

Summer 2026, ECASD Summer Session

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. Safe@Home is a 90-minute program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.  NO REFUNDS once registered.
