TEEN FITNESS

 

The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is proud to offer a variety of youth and teen programs committed to helping individuals maintain or work towards a healthy lifestyle and strengthen social ties. We encourage everyone to grow in the areas of physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Our youth and teen offerings are constantly being updated and added to this page. Check back frequently to see what new offerings are coming your way. 

Youth ages 12 and older are welcome to participate in all Group Exercise classes with their membership.

Speed, Power, Agility Training - Level 1

This program focuses on teaching middle schoolers (11-14 years old) the importance of Speed, Power, and Agility as it pertains to their specific sports. The kids will practice these skills through agility ladders, plyometric workouts, proper jumping/landing mechanics, change of direction movements, and more.

Eau Claire Downtown YMCA

  • SESSION 1: Mondays & Thursdays, April 1-25 - REGISTER

  • SESSION 2: Mondays & Thursdays, May 6-30 - REGISTER

  • SESSION 3: Mondays & Thursdays, June 24-July 18 - REGISTER

  • TIME: 5:30-6:20 PM

  • COST: YMCA Member: $60 | Non-Member: $80

 

Chippewa Falls YMCA

  • SPRING 1: Tuesdays & Thursdays, March 5- 28 - REGISTER

  • SPRING 2: Tuesdays & Thursdays, April 2-25- REGISTER

  • Time: 4:30-5:20 PM

  • COST: YMCA Member: $60 | Non-Member: $80

Speed, Power, Agility Training - Level 2

Focused on teaching middle school aged kids (11-14 years old) the importance of Speed, Power, and Agility as it pertains to their specific sports. It is recommended that the child complete the level 1 class before signing up for this program.

Workouts will be more challenging: focused on increased resistance, multi-directional movements, incorporating more explosive movements, and more.

Athletic Enhancement Program 

ECASD Students Only

The Athletic Enhancement Program is designed to build athletic fundamentals such as strength, conditioning, speed, and agility, with a focus on injury prevention. AEP is great for all ability levels in any sport as we cater to each person's strengths and weaknesses. Training can be general or sport specific. Athletes will have the opportunity to attend either 2 or 4 days/week.

  • ECASD students entering grades 7-12

  • Mondays-Thursdays, 8:00-9:00 AM

  • June 10-July 25 | REGISTER

    • No programming the week of July 3

  • Eau Claire Downtown YMCA Personal Training Studio

  • Cost: $7 Material Fee

Y360 (Virtual)

Bring the Y to you, wherever you are. Whether it's a current Y favorite or something new to you, Y360 matches your lifestyle with a growing library of online videos for you and your family. Livestreams and on-demand classes/content are available free for current YMCA Members. 

Barracudas Swim Team
 

The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley Barracudas Swim Team combines YMCA and USA year-round competitive swimming and diving programs in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and the surrounding area. We promote the long-term development of athletes by offering skill instruction, training focused on improving fitness levels, and appropriate social interaction in a caring, respectful, and encouraging environment. More than 200 student-athletes learn and train at multiple locations: Eau Claire Downtown YMCA, Chippewa Falls YMCA, Chippewa Falls Middle School, and Eau Claire Memorial High School. The YMCA Swim Team welcomes swimmers ages 5 to 19 and all ability levels!

Youth Fitness Orientation 

Those 12 years old and up are welcome to use the equipment in the fitness centers at both locations. We offer individualized orientations that help each child safely and appropriately use the equipment so that they can make the most of their time using the fitness center.

Youth Performance Training is great for all ability levels as we cater to each person's strengths and weaknesses. This program can be general or sports-specific. We offer individual, partner, and small group options.
