ADULT & COLLEGE SPORTS

Sports are not just for kids! Whether you miss “suiting up” or are new to team sports, the Y’s sports leagues provide a perfect opportunity to be active, social and to reconnect or start fresh with a sport you love.

We offer a variety of adult and college sports leagues throughout the year. Program and registration information will become available as the league dates approach. 

Adult & College Basketball

The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley offers basketball leagues for everyone! It's time to dust off your basketball shoes and join one of many adult basketball programs. Basketball leagues offered include College Leagues, Adult League, Old Timers, and Master Leagues. Click the button below to see what leagues are currently offered.

WESTERN WI WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Women's Basketball League at the YMCA Sports Center. This is a 5 versus 5 league with a maximum of 12 teams. Participants may sign up as an individual and list the team they would like to be on. Each team should have a minimum of 5 participants. Due to NCAA regulations, current D1 scholarship players are not eligible. We hope that your team will join us this summer! Non-Members must purchase the $20 Player’s Package.

ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUE - AGES 17+

The adult recreational basketball league consists of an 8-game session. This league is open to players of all levels. Grab some friends and get your teams together. If you are not part of a team, register as an individual, and we will do our best to help you find a team. This league is 5 versus 5. Teams should have a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 12. Non-Members must purchase the $20 Player’s Package..

pickleball

Adult Pickleball

Pickleball is offered at the Chippewa Falls YMCA, Eau Claire Downtown YMCA, Eau Claire South YMCA and the YMCA Sports Center. Open play and leagues are available. Pickleball is available September-May

PICKLEBALL LESSONS 


Beginner Lessons: Learn how to play pickleball, the fastest growing sport in America. The beginner course will introduce pickleball rules, court positioning, footwork, drills and doubles game strategy. Drills and strategy will focus on serves, returns, dropshots, an dinks.

Advanced Lessons: Have you learned the basics of pickleball and want to improve your shots? Pickleball skills and drills will provide you practice on your serve, return serve, dink, lobs, smash and drop shots. Proper technique is demonstrated followed by fun drills. This class is for someone that is beyond the basics and would like to improve their skill shots through repetition.

Adult Flag Football​

Do you love football? Why not join one of our flag football leagues? We offer both Adult Competitive Flag Football Leagues and Adult Recreational Flag Football Leagues. ADULT FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE - AGES 18+

Do you love football? Why not join our flag football league? We have the largest indoor facility for flag football in Western Wisconsin, with 16,000 sq. ft. of turf. The winter session consists of 9 games and is open to players of all levels. Grab some friends and get your team together. If you are not part of a team, register as an individual, and we will do our best to help you find a team. All players must have a $20 Player’s Package or YMCA Membership.

Adult Volleyball​

Volleyball leagues operate from September through May at Western Wisconsin’s premier indoor sports facility. The NCAA-approved volleyball floor surfaces, clean and climate-controlled building, and player- and spectator-friendly facility make The Sports Center the place to be for volleyball! Volleyball leagues fill up quickly, so don’t wait to reserve your spot!​

COED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE - AGES 16+

The winter coed volleyball league consists of 8 games and is open to players of all levels. The NCAA-approved volleyball floor surfaces, clean and climate-controlled building, and player- and spectator-friendly facility make the YMCA Sports Center the place to be for volleyball. All players must have a Player’s Package or YMCA Membership.

    • Games start no earlier than 6:00 PM

Adult Tennis​

We offer a variety of adult tennis opportunities at the John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center. This state-of-the-art facility provides 8 courts, a clean and climate-controlled building, and player- and spectator-friendly facility make the John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center the place to be for tennis!   • Advanced Doubles - This is a fast-paced, high-intensity, strategic doubles drill for players looking for advanced tactical doubles skills. The drill focuses on communication, movement, strategy, and point play. Players will learn new techniques of modern doubles as well as practice tried and true methods. Players should expect a mix of instructional drill and coached point play.

  • Beginner | <2.5 level - This class will cover basic strokes, serves, service return, ground strokes and volley. Proper footwork and all judgment skills will be taught. Ratio is 5:1.

  • Intermediate | 2.5-3.0 level - The basic strokes will be refined, and strategy will be introduced. Proper grip and stroke production will be stressed. This class will introduce the patterns of play and working a point. Ratio is 5:1.

  • Advanced | 3.0-3.5 level - Intended for players who want to improve their strokes and learn important strategies of the game. Half of the class time is spent on improving stroke production, and the other half is spent on strategies. Ratio is 5:1.

  • Singles Drill | 3.0-4.0 level

  • Adult Doubles DRILLS | 3.5+ level - Drill is open to all players rated 3.5 and above. Players will drill for the majority of the time.

  • SPRING 1: April 1-May 11

  • SPRING 2: May 13-June 8

  • SUMMER 1: June 10-July 20*

    • *No class the week of July 3

  • SUMMER 2: July 22-August 24

Racquetball​

Multiple racquetball courts are available at the Chippewa Falls YMCA and Eau Claire YMCA locations free to members. Please bring your own equipment. No reservations are needed at this time.

The winter league consists of 8 games and offers recreational and competitive play. It is a great way to stay active, get competitive play, and enjoy camaraderie between teammates. All players must have a Player’s Package or YMCA Membership.

MEN'S LEAGUE - AGES 18+

Looking to be active and join the fun? Maybe your child plays and you would like to learn more about the sport. Enroll as a team or as an individual. The winter league consists of 10 games and offers recreational and competitive play. It is a great way to stay active, get competitive play, and enjoy camaraderie between teammates. All players must have a Player’s Package or YMCA Membership.

Golf Simulator ​

The Chippewa Falls YMCA is excited to introduce a state-of-the-art Golf Room with a launch monitor (3D tracking) and Simulator! The 55-inch screen and Fuberbuilt turf mat closely resemble true fairway impact. The simulator offers skill challenges to improve different aspects of your game, five simulated golf courses to play on, and practice ranges to work on ball striking.

Karate

Looking for a new way to build self-esteem, discipline, and determination? Try Goju Kai karate! Each session, you will learn karate and self-defense skills while improving flexibility, balance, and coordination.

Karate classes are open to all adults and youth 8 and older.

This program and enrollment runs continuously.

All participants are required to purchase a class package online or at the Service Desk in order to attend.

You may attend whichever sessions meet your schedule. Both beginner and advanced levels are taught at each class.

 

Students must have the dedication and commitment needed to learn a martial art.

We want to make sure that all karate students benefit equally from the instruction.
